RAW HEMP CUISINE

Hemp seeds provide us with a near perfect balance of essential nutrients and can be easily and quickly made into a range of highly nutritious, tasty drinks and snacks. You are only limited by your own imagination, but do remember NEVER COOK HEMP SEEDS, as this will create free radicals which are highly carcinogenic. Only use Hemp Raw and uncooked. Here are a few basic recipes:

PREPARING SEEDS: Soak seeds in water and then skim off floating seeds. Resoak these seeds over night. Skim off floating seeds and rinse remaining seeds which are now ready for use.

GREEN HEMP MILK (BHANG):

You will need : Slow speed juicer such as Green Star, Samson, Oscar, Z-Star or Porket.

Ingredients: Soaked seeds, Greens (Wild are best such as nettles and dandelion) and vegetables of your choice ( for example : celery, cucumber and onions).

Method: Mix some 'Green Gold' with some water in a bowel into a paste. Put some greens through the juicer, followed by vegetables. Keep juicing more vegetables with a small amount of soaked Hemp seeds every so often. Keep repeating this process.

For Bhang mix in some THC rich Cannabis flowers with the 'Green Gold'.

HEMP MILK SMOOTHIE:

You will need : Blender and sieve or muslin clothe or blender with integral filter.

Method: Put soaked seeds in blender and cover with fruit juice (such as apple or orange) and blend thoroughly and then filter out shells with sieve or muslin clothe. For extra indulgence you can reblend with soft fruits such as mango, avocado, strawberry, raspberry or banana.

MATSEPAN* TRUFFLES.

Method: Using an auger juicer, blender or pestle and mortar, grind/blend seeds with some soaked dates/figs and 'Green Gold', and then roll into balls coated in carob.

*Matsepan literally translates from the Chinese 'Ma' – Hemp 'Tse'- Seed 'Pan'-Ground

SAVORY HEMP HEART.

Method: Grind/Blend seeds into pate and add some 'Green Gold', avocado and spices of your choice. Form into desired shape and serve with salad, flax crackers or roll up with nori sheets.

For the above two recipes it is also possible to use dry Hemp seeds ground in a coffee grinder, Porket seed grinder or pestle and mortar. Remember with dry Hemp seeds to check for any twigs or grit.
