CHIC CANNABIS MUSEUM,
PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
.

When the museum opened back in April of this year, I honestly anticipated that it would generate some level of interest from volunteers. Unfortunately this has not been quite the case and I have been left to run things pretty much on my own. I have also recently found out that I was paying over 3 times as much rent as the main lease holder House of Hemp, a commercial venture selling hemp products. For these and other reasons I will no longer be running the museum. I will continue to run CHIC and all post should be sent to BM Box 6339, London WC1N 3XX. Remember to enclose an SAE for any enquiries.

As mentioned in Cannabis UK 2, I'm in the process of moving down to the heart chakra of the world, Glastonbury, where, with several friends of mine, will be a shop / info centre called 'In Harmony with Nature'. The shop will consist of a series of displays on how our lives effect the
environment and what steps we can be taking to live in harmony with nature. We will be selling a range of Environmentally Friendly products, many of which will be made from Cannabis, natures most valuable resource.

SPEAKERS CORNER '67

Last Wednesday, on the night the
Stones were jailed I, with two friends,
went to
Hyde Park and Speaker's
Corner. Though it was not on Sunday
there were about two hundred people
there listening to a couple of
speakers. We had three joints with us
and lit the first one shouting "This is
Marijuana, can we turn you on ?" A
policeman walked behind us and we
shouted "Hey officer !" (he turned his
head to look at us) - "This is
Marijuana, want some T Our very act
was beyond his comprehension - all
he could do was turn his back and
walk on.

It was quite an enlightening thing to
do and now when I'm with friends
within a restaurant and the subject is
brought up there is no paranoia, low
whisper voices involved because I
have shouted it out in public with
police present and what do I care if
Fred Nogle across the table who I
don't know knows.

HEMP WARNING

Anyone travelling through customs with
Hemp clothing may be in for a shock as
lan Penn and Sara Molluca found out
when they travelled through
New
Zealand
's Auckland Airport. Police Dog's
viciously attacked their suitcase only to
reveal a pair of hemp shorts that lan's
mum had made him. They were eventually
let off, but given a warning: don't take
hemp clothes into more repressive
countries like
Indonesia, where Customs
may not be so understanding.

The Adidas 'Hemp Shoe' has come under
viscous attack by various anti-drug groups.
Former
US drugs czar. Lee Brown claims
that the word 'Hemp' is a slang word for
'Marijuana' and that Adidas are pandering
to the drug culture.

A Parent -Teacher group in the US, warned
that students wearing the shoe would have
them confiscated. One parent then asked if
they would start making shoes from
cocaine.

CLCIA BURNT OUT

The CLCIA headquarters in Norwich have
been burned out after an arson attack.

BBC VIEWERS DECIDE TO
LEGALISE ALL DRUGS.

Viewers of the BBC programme 'You Decide'
voted 52% in favour of legalising all drugs.

REV SCOTT
FOUND GUILTY

Robin Scott and his wife
Adrienne of die Medical
Marijuana Foundation
have been found guilty of
Cannabis Cultivation at
Truro Crown Court.
They arc expected to
appeal against this verdict.
Good Luck.

LEGALISED IN CALIFORNIA

Coinciding with the re-election of
self confessed ex-pot smoker Bill
Clinton the people of
California and
Arizona have voted in favour of
legalising Cannabis for medical use.
This will now legalise the operation
of the recently busted
California
Buyer's Club.

Jack Herer said this was the greatest
development yet in the campaign to
legalise Cannabis

"Just because people grow Cannabis at home doesn't mean they are destined to become heroin addicts.... In fact,
it would be better to allow people to grow Marijuana for their own consumption, since it undermines trade in a
drug that is anyway less harmful to individual health than cigarettes and far less socially destructive than alcohol"
The Independent, Leader Page.

SOWING THE SEEDS OF HOPE

On a cold windy morning in early May a
hundred or so people gathered on
Parliament Hill to launch a very special
gift of nature into the air, Cannabis
Hemp Seeds.

Multi coloured biodegradable balloons
were filled with seeds and then helium.
After a few speeches by representatives
of the Green Party, CHIC and the
Legalise Cannabis Campaign

the balloons were released on the count of three and headed off into the London sky, at some point bursting and releasing their precious cargo back into the earth.

This action not only aimed to raise peoples awareness about Cannabis but also to draw attention to the fact that that it is not illegal to posses or plant Cannabis seeds. It is only illegal to cultivate them. Seeds planted wild would be cultivated by Mother Nature. Try taking her to court.
