No Cannabis hemp seed contains 'the' or any other psycho-active Cannabis substances. Some people do
report feeling a natural lift but this we attribute to the vital energy the seed provides.
For those who use herbal Cannabis medicinally, please note that the nutrients within the seed can
facilitate the absorption and assimilation of Cannabis (resin, flowers and leaves). The seed assists the
uptake and transportation of the active ingredients to the spinal cord and brain quickly and efficiently.

Hemp seed Food

Enjoy eating hemp seed as nature provides (raw and whole). or grind to make hemp seed meal. Using fresh hemp seed meal (the basis of hemp seed cuisine) liberally as a condiment is an effective way of incorporating the seed into your diet. It is quick and easy to grind some raw or lightly toasted hemp seed and mix with your favourite herbs, nuts, spices, dried fruit, onion or garlic to make a delicious sweet or savoury Ma tse pan dish.

These recipes can be made in a couple of minutes, require few ingredients and only a little energy to produce healthy and tasty dishes.

Ma tse Pan. Hemp seed meal is an established food in many regions of China. Cannabis-Hemp is known as Ma, the seed Ma tse,
while pan means to break down. The original Ma tse pan was hemp seed ground up or mixed with other foods.

The classic ma tse pan recipe requires only the addition of almonds and dates to make a sweet yet wholesome snack unlike today's nutrient western version which replaced hemp seed with sugar. Almonds are high in vitamin E and dates contain good vitamin A. Vitamins A and E are powerful anti-oxidants. which help protect the EFA's from going rancid. Vitamin A and E are both fat soluble and need to be absorbed by oils for our bodies to utilise them. Use half a cup of raw and / or slightly toasted hemp seed, ground with two or three almonds, then mix together with 1 or 2 finely chopped dates.

Hemp nut-garlic-butter; A savoury Ma tse pan. Half a cup of raw / toasted hemp seed, grind and blend with a little finely chopped
raw garlic (the hemp seed mellows the garlic taste), a pinch of sea salt and some olive oil. Mix together and serve

Sprouted hemp seed is an even greater source of nutrition. Unfortunately, sprouting Hemp Seeds is illegal.

Hemp seed is great in baked goods providing they are consumed within 24 hours. For cakes, biscuits and breads add half a cup
of raw. hemp seed meal to recipes or replace a third of the flour with hemp seed

Hemp milk is incomparable to cow or soya milk for taste and nutritional value and can be made quickly and easily. Soak a cup of
hemp seed for 24 hours, ground to a meal and mix with 2 cups of water. Add ground almonds and strain through a loose weave hemp cloth Add organic apple juice for a sweeter milk. Make in a low light area and drink the milk soon after.

Body Care Take a generous handful of hemp seed, grind with a few almonds, making a Ma tse Pan meal Wet body in bath / shower from head ;o toe and massage the meal into the body allowing the fibrous shells to exfoliate the debris of the dead skin cells, the protein to replenish the protein of the skin (collagen) and the essential oils to penetrate into the inner cells, smoothing and soothing.

Care of seeds Store seeds in a cool, dark and dry place. Before use, wash in a bowl of water to separate seed from dust and grit,
allowing floating seed? to be sieved or poured off.

Do not cook at high temperatures and never fry. Processing exposes the sensitive oils within the seed to the detrimental
effects of light, air and heat resulting in rancidity, thus spoiling this delicate food. For this reason we recommend all processed seed be consumed within 24 hours. for Optimum Molecular Nutritional Intake', (OMNI) the seed is best eaten raw (whole or freshly ground).
In the interest of safety. CHIC recommends that you should eat foods containg freshly prepared Hemp Seeds. Avoid commercially produced products containing seeds that may have been processed some time ago.
